Scanning Tickets at the Door
Use any phone's camera to check in guests quickly and prevent duplicate entry.
Band Account's built-in ticket scanner runs entirely in the browser — no app download required. Any band admin or member can use it on their phone to check in guests at the door.
Opening the scanner
From the show's Ticket Management page, click the 'Scan tickets' button in the top right. You can also navigate directly to /band/[bandId]/shows/[showId]/scan.
- 1Open the scanner page on your phone
- 2Tap 'Start scanning' and allow camera access when prompted
- 3Point the camera at the fan's QR code (shown on their phone screen or printed)
- 4The result appears instantly: green for valid, yellow for already scanned, red for invalid
- 5The scanner automatically resets after 3 seconds, ready for the next ticket
Scan results explained
- 1Valid (green) — ticket accepted, guest is checked in. The ticket status updates to Scanned.
- 2Already scanned (yellow) — this ticket was already checked in. Shows the time it was first scanned.
- 3Invalid (red) — the QR code does not match any ticket for this show, or the ticket has been cancelled/refunded.
Multiple scanners
You can run the scanner simultaneously on multiple phones at different entry points. All scans sync to the same database instantly, so a ticket scanned at one door cannot be reused at another.
The scanner works offline-first for the camera feed, but needs a data connection to validate each ticket. Make sure your venue has WiFi or mobile signal.
