Tabs & chords
Write guitar and bass tabs and chord progressions for each section of a song, in any tuning.
Updated Oct 13, 2026
Every song has a Tabs & Chords tab on its page. Add a part for each player, then write the chords and tab for each section of the song: intro, verses, chorus, solo and so on. Everyone in the band can view and edit it, and changes save automatically.
Adding parts
A part is one player's line, such as Rhythm guitar, Lead guitar or Bass.
Open a song and choose the Tabs & Chords tab
Click Guitar, Bass or Guitar + bass to start, or '+ Part' to add more later
Pick the instrument: 6- or 7-string guitar, or 4- or 5-string bass
Choose a tuning (Standard, Drop D, E♭ standard, open tunings and more), or Custom to enter each string's note
Set a capo for guitar parts if you use one
Adding sections
Click Add section. Any sections tagged in your lyrics, like [Verse 1] or [Chorus], are listed first, and 'Add all' adds them in order. You can also pick a common section or type your own name, such as 'Intro riff'. Each section can be repeated (×2, ×3…), moved, duplicated or deleted.
Writing chords
Type each section's chord progression, with bars separated by |, for example: Am F | C G. Every chord you use gets a fretboard diagram at the top of guitar parts. Common open and barre chords are filled in for you; tap a diagram to set your own fingering.
Writing tab
Click a spot on a string and type the fret number.
Use the arrow keys to move between strings and beats
Press Space or Tab to move to the next beat; typing past the last bar adds a new one
Add techniques after a fret: h (hammer-on), p (pull-off), b (bend), r (release), / and \ (slides), ~ (vibrato), x (muted note)
Press Backspace to erase
Hover over a bar to add or remove a beat, duplicate it or delete it
Pasting and sharing tab
Switch any section to Text to see its tab as standard ASCII tab you can copy. To bring in tab from somewhere else, paste it into the Text view and click Apply. Each line needs to start with the string name and a | (for example e|---3---|).
Printing and Rehearsal mode
Click Print to open a clean page with every part's chord diagrams, progressions and tab. In Rehearsal mode, the Chords panel shows the current song's tabs so you can read along while you run the set.
