Getting started with Band Account
Band Account keeps everything your band runs on in one place: your songs, setlists, rehearsals, shows and the people you play with. This guide takes you from a new account to a band that's ready to rehearse. It takes about 15 minutes.
Create your band
When you first sign in, you'll land on Your bands. Click New band and fill in:
Band name (required)
Genre, such as Indie Rock, Jazz or Hip-Hop
Location, your home city
Bio, a few lines about who you are
You can change any of these later under Settings → Band Profile, where you can also add your social links.
In more than one band? Each band gets its own workspace. Switch between them with the band switcher at the top of the sidebar. Choose Open [band] on sign-in there to pick the band you land in each time you sign in.
Invite your bandmates
Go to Members in the sidebar. You can invite people in two ways:
By email: type one or more addresses, pressing Enter or a comma after each, then send. Everyone gets an email with a link to join.
By link: copy the invite link and share it in your group chat.
Invites expire after 7 days. You can resend or revoke one under Pending Invites.
Build your song library
Your song library is the foundation for everything else. Setlists, rehearsals and shows all draw from it. Open Songsand add each song the band plays.
For each song you can record:
Title, Artist / Written by, and Album / EP
Key, BPM and Length, so everyone knows how it's played and setlist run times calculate automatically
Lyrics
Tabs & Chords, for chord charts and tabs
Notes, for arrangement reminders, cues and who takes which part
Rehearsal Files, for audio such as demos, backing tracks or click tracks- A status, so you know where it stands as a recording: Draft, In Progress, Mixing, Mastering, Ready for Release or Released
Track readiness. Each member can rate how well they know a song, from Still learning to Gig-ready. Band Account averages everyone's ratings so you can see which songs need more rehearsal.
Tip: Start with the songs you play live most often. Your first setlist only needs those, and you can add the rest over time.
Create a setlist
Open Setlists and create a new one. Give it a name, such as "Summer Tour Set" or "Acoustic Night", and an optional description.
Add songs from your Song library on the side. You can search it or filter by album.
Drag songs to set the Running order.
Add notes to any song in the set, like "segue straight into the next one" or "extended outro."
At the top of the page you'll see the set's song count, total run time, and set readiness, which is the average of everyone's readiness ratings for the songs in it. Check it before a show. Rehearsal Mode plays through the setlist full-screen with your rehearsal audio. You can set the gap after each song, make a song wait until you tap Next, and turn on a click track at the song's BPM.
Put rehearsals on the calendar
Open Calendar and add a New event. Choose a type (Rehearsal, Show, Meeting or Other), then set the start and end times, location and any notes.
Everyone in the band can RSVP Going, Maybe or Not going, so you know who's coming before you book the room.
Add your shows
Open Shows to add a gig. The setup steps you through:
Show title, date, doors open time and set time
Status: Pending, Confirmed, Cancelled or Completed
Lineup, if you're sharing the bill
Guarantee / payment, so you have a record of what you were promised
Setlist: link an existing setlist or start a new one for this show
Private notes, for load-in details, contacts and parking. Only your band sees these.
Selling tickets? You can use an external ticket link, or turn on Ticketing to sell tickets on Band Account with your own ticket types, prices and capacity. This requires connecting a Stripe account.
Stay in sync
A few more tools that help day-to-day:
Chat: messaging for the whole band.
Tasks: a board for to-dos like "book the van" or "finish the bridge lyrics." You can set an assignee, due date and priority, and link a task to a song.
Notifications: new invites, RSVPs, mentions and task reminders all show up here.
Get your band out there (optional)
Once the band is set up, you can show it to fans:
Website: a public band page with your bio, shows and music. You can also connect your own domain.
Links: one link-in-bio page for all your profiles.
Fan Club: build a following and reward your most engaged fans.
Blog & Press: post news and keep your press materials in one place.
That's it. Your band is set up. If you get stuck, use the feedback button in the app and we'll help you out.
